Use with non LG devices?

Is it possible to use this addon for non LG devices and just define the buttons to instead call services etc?

+1 for this request. This is the best remote I've found for HA.

+1. Given that with v2.0 you can override the buttons to any action, this would be now usable as a remote card for any device.

The limitation to webos devices (line 165 of editor.ts https://github.com/madmicio/LG-WebOS-Remote-Control/blob/master/src/editor.ts#L165 ?) doesn't make much sense anymore.

@madmicio sorry to mention you directly, but this request was created before v2.0 with button override was released, so maybe this can be assessed now. Thanks 😄

I was dumb 😅 . Just switch to Code Editor, put any media player entity even non-LG TVs, and use button override code. Working on Samsung TV.

This could be closed. Someone who wants to use this on non-LG TVs needs to use the code editor anyway for button override, so no need to make the entity dropdown to allow non-LG TVs.
