Add confirmation prompt before unfollowing a podcast in Android app
Currently it's very easy to unintentionally unfollow a podcast in the Android app and when that happens all history for that podcast is lost immediately.
To help prevent accidental data loss, please add a confirmation popup when a user presses the unfollow button or the heart icon explaining that clicking continue will result in the loss of history. Clicking cancel stopped the unfollow request and no changes are made.
Absolutely, this feature will be coming in 0.8.3. I'm about to get 0.8.2 out the door here and then I'll be returning to the mobile app for some additional adjustments. Coming soon!
I just did the same thing, +1 for a warning pop-up.
I also want to share some feedback on the placement of one of the unfollow buttons. I made this mistake while testing my connection to Pinepods over my home network's VPN. If you open the app while not connected to the same network as Pinepods, then reestablish the connection, a 'Retry' button appears on the bottom of the Home screen.
If you toggle the network connection in a similar way while trying to load a podcast's episode list, an 'Unfollow' button will appear in the same spot on the screen. This button appears in addition to the 'Unfollow' button that's already displayed next to the podcast author.
Would it make sense to replace this additional 'Unfollow' button at the bottom with a 'Retry' button? I tapped it without moving my thumb to read it, expecting it to be a retry button just like it is on the home screen.
@craslaw thanks for the feedback! I would be inclined to agree actually having played with the app for the last few months. That would make more sense. The confirmation is coming in the next release and I'll get that swapped over to a retry button too!
