My PC turns off

Open MCookieSteal opened this issue 3 years ago • 8 comments

My pc works fine, but when I epizo to plotting for a while it turns off.

I have tried a 100% stress test, of cpu (dual cpu intel xeon e5-2689) and with ram memory (32gb ddr3) at the same time to rule out the failure of the power supply (650w).

And the conclusion is that leaving it with aida64 1h to the maximum, it does not turn off but when I use more than 15 threads to plot it it turns off.

Does anyone know something? My doubts are the temperature or the power supply but with aida64 I discard them.

Please help.

Try Prime95 Small FFTs or maybe OCCT instead of AIDA64.

most likely RAM

I just tried all the programs and it won't turn off.

Is it possible that the problem comes when I plot in parallel?

It only happens with a 1TB SSD plotting in parallel, why? the SSD is in perfect condition.

Thank you very much for the help

most likely RAM

I thought so, but when a stress test does not give any problem.

Same problem here with my plotting machine.

Tried now on Azure L32s_v2 (32 vcpus, 256 GiB memory) instance with -r 8, tempdir on NVMe and tempdir2 on 128GB RAMdisk and same result, machine reboots after a few minutes.

Ubuntu 20.04.

I think that's because we can't draw in parallel with the same disk, and I can't understand, because it is supposed that if my disk is 1TB, it should let me do 3 in parallel

Not parallel plotting in my case.

got a new Kingston DC500M, if I connect it to any SATA port at my ASUS PRIME B350-PLUS and start plotting, the Windows PC crashes after a few minutes. Nothing in system log, nothing on the screen, just switching off. A different SSD is working fine with the same settings.

.\chia_plot.exe -c .......... -n 65 -r 4 -u 512 -t E:\ -f ........ -d \\192.168.1.125\wd2\ -w 26
