Q: whether MACS2 could randomly select a certain number of cells in a sample to call peaks

Hello! I'm a beginner of MACS2. I wonder whether MACS2 could randomly select a certain number of cells in a sample to call peaks? What I mean is, I have two samples, but because the difference in the number of cells between them is too large, the difference in the number of peaks is also too large. I want to know whether MACS2 has related functions that can be used for normalization. Thank you very much for your time and help.

@qimiaonnegliguo Were you talking about single-cell data analysis? If so, you should consider using other tools such as samtools or bedtools to make a subset of alignment file (sam/bam or bed) given a list of fixed number of cells (with barcodes) .

Thanks very much for your suggestion. I'll try it.
