Multi-part books not being consolidated into 1 "library"

Open jmaysnc opened this issue 4 years ago • 4 comments

I have my MP3 tags set correctly, and files named correctly, but I have a 5 part book that shows as 5 different books in my Plex Library. What's the magic sauce to get those to play nicely with each other?

Many thanks on the awesome plugin!

I'm having some similar issues with some of my audiobooks. I assume it has something to do with wrong id3 metadata, but even after making sure all metadata are exactly the same (artist, album, etc) plex still thinks they are different albums.

Plex does this to me quite often if I replace track(s) - or modify enough it thinks their "new" - plex will see there are two tracks with same info and put them into a separate albums.

The workaround is to select them and use "merge", or adjust the tracks own info in plex.

Unfortunately Plex has already determined this (using music scanner) before the agent gets a chance.

P.S. if it has put them in separate albums because of duplicate info (such as multi-disc with no disc numbers) then merging will not be good unless you correct that (in tags or plex).

I had this issue and if I add the appropriate number to the track metadata plex will merge them
