TUI freezes on windows

Describe the bug My co-worker (non-technical) @benschenkel89 is experiencing a bug on DOS.

To Reproduce Steps to reproduce the behavior:

1. build latest main branch on windows
2. pressing the e key to edit a snippet freezes the screen often
3. the navigation keys (j, k, l...) also seem to freeze the TUI occasionally

Expected behavior The TUI should not freeze on normal activity

Desktop (please complete the following information):

• OS: Windows
• Windows Terminal (latest)
• Windows 11 Home x86_64

Additional context We would be happy to try and get a debug log on his machine if you could point us to some instructions.
