Detection of people entering or leaving a room with GridEye or similar

Is your feature request related to a problem? Please describe. I try to find a solution to detect people in a room without the need for them to carry something around. Therefore I tried the GridEye implementation. However the viewing angle of the sensor or the size of the room mostly make it impossible to use just one sensor/Raspberry per room. This increases complexity, power consumption and cost of the system.

Describe the solution you'd like I would like to use the thermal sensor to count people entering or leaving a room by placing it such that it monitors the room door. https://www.hiome.com/ works like that. It would be great to have a similar solution with room-assistant.

Describe alternatives you've considered I could also buy the hihome system which would be more expensive and requires an extra gateway.

I think this should be doable as long as the sensor is place at the top or the sides of the entry point (so that you can see whether a person is leaving or entering). It would definitely require running the sensor at the higher refresh rate though, because the currently chosen 1FPS wouldn't be enough to catch all movements I think.

Okay, cool, so you are considering to implement this in a future version?

I'll include this onto the roadmap, but I don't see myself getting to it anytime soon. As with any request though, I'll happily review any contributions and provide support where I can.
