Feature request: add shortcuts
It would be great if:
- The square where the letter will be placed would have be highlighted somehow, maybe an extra bold border:
- the RIGHT arrow key would move the input cursor to the right
- the LEFT arrow key would move the input cursor to the left
- the TAB key would delete all letters in the current turn
- the SPACE key would shuffle letters entered (but not submitted yet) in the current turn
- the DOWN arrow key would instantly copy green squares from past turns to the current turn:
- the UP arrow would move copy green letters to their positions and yellow letters in the order they were found (or alpha or random sort):
This might be in total conflict with how hello wordl collects input from the user though... 🤷🏻♂
I'm not too interested in adding shortcuts like this: I think linear editing and backspace, like Wordle has, is basically sufficient, and buttons to scramble/copy/… would only complicate things. However, if many people want something like this, I could be convinced otherwise.
I do really like the visual for your DOWN shortcut. I wonder if some players would find it useful to (have a setting that lets them) see faint copies of known green letters? Like so:
For now, I'll leave this open for others to chime in with shortcut ideas.
Your fainted letters behind a setting idea sounds great!
