hi,

Is there any plan to create one? I found this issue, but at that time deploying and managing VMs was not an option:

Now it would make sense a lot in my opinion.

I believe @monstermunchkin looked into this and hit a bit of a wall as far as how to inject configuration into such an image, specifically so that it can start the LXD agent.

It looked like the configuration is meant to be read either from a drive which needs to be specified in the VM's firmware config or have the configuration retrieved from the network. Neither of which are an option for us. We need to be able to have config baked into the image.

How about https://github.com/flatcar-linux/? It's another distribution designed for hosting K8s nodes.
