I keep ranting about the desktop being dead and that the linux desktop is a server desktop product via virtualisation. :)

Lubuntu on android or IOS rather that the race to get applications on these platforms it would be much better to have a platform agnostic virtual desktop via LXC.

My level of technical knowledge starts to groan at cgroups, aufs, and some of the tricks needed to get a desktop running under LXC but apparently it is fairly easy. The trick is to keep the rootfs as small as possible and share where ever possible.

I think your web-lxc is a superb bit of web admin software for servers but it would be great if it was extended for desktops running under LXC. LXC desktop virtualisation is very low on resources approx 10:1 and less compared to hypervisors.

My dream project is a Guacomole HTML5 VNC proxy infront of a Desktop version of LXC-Web-Panel array of servers.

Add http://www.niftiestsoftware.com/2011/10/15/printing-to-google-cloud-print-using-cups/ into the array and you also have printing.

Its what I call the Local Cloud where consultants like me can set up virtual lans for customers but still be the man on the ground to deal with and understand their needs.

At least thats what I call it :)
