Window disappears in i3wm

Open raingloom opened this issue 4 years ago • 4 comments

When the window becomes obscured, Liferea seems to think I want it to be completely hidden, so it toggles visibility. It only happens when the window is hidden, not just when it's not focused.

i'm running 1.12.8 on Guix System. it's not impossible that Guix's packaging breaks some undocumented invariants.

i heard from a friend that they have been using Liferea with i3wm without problems, so this might be version and/or distro specific.

ps.: i really don't appreciate having to log into GitHub. is there literally any alternative way to report bugs?

I also see this issue on Debian Buster, Liferea version 1.12.6, i3 version 4.16.1

Switching to another tile makes the Liferea window disappear, process is still running.

If I go to Tools -> Plugins and disable the "Tray Icon (GNOME Classic)" the window does not disappear anymore.

Same problem here, same versions, and same fix: Debian: stable Liferea: 1.12.6-1 i3: 4.16.1-1

The problem is not i3 specific. I'm using xmonad and liferea disappears (but is still running) once the workspace becomes hidden. The fix of @blip-unicorn also works for me.

liferea 1.13.4 xmonad 0.15 Debian 11 (stable)
