[Request] Article Thumbnail
Can you please add the option to show the article thumbnail next to the title. As, it helps to sort through the on screen text when there is a large number of articles, thanks.
Something like this as an example, but more the middle column not either end:
While this is visually very appealing and might help identifying relevant content, mass image downloading and conversion and huge local storage of images might not what all types of users (e.g. slow bandwith use case, power user use case >100000 headlines) might expect.
It is actually easier not to have the feature than to support a logic that can combine all those use cases.
Still fear not, I can imagine this feature coming when we migrate the item list to a HTML widget, which has a lot of advantages. With this it will become possible to directly load image links from the web without any caching implementation.
What about disabling it by default and just relying on users to enable it if they choose.
While this would be easy to implement it is still unmaintainable. Experience in one man open source project tells those features that are being used by the maintainer work, all others silently degrade. I cannot maintain it :-(
It would be awesome ! And rare are those who have this feature. In my eyes it is one of those features that will definitely make me choose liferea
