Is this driver worth waiting for?

I can see that Mini PCI-E is the successor for Mini PCI NIC's, so my question is, is this driver worth waiting for? I'm developing with jNetPcap which requires promiscuous mode for some features, and this driver doesn't support that. Is the developing of this card worth looking into, or should I go buy myself a new NIC/USB-dongle?
