hecras driver development

is there any plan to develop the hecras driver (mdal/frmts/mdal_hec2d.cpp and mdal/frmts/mdal_hec2d.hpp) in order to:

• add to the imports all (or at least some) of the other variables that can be retrieved from standard and/or customized (see 2d-output-file-hdf5-binary-file) hecras 6 hdf files?
• automatically calculate the depth as water surface - cells elevation? (/Results/Unsteady/Output/Output Blocks/Base Output/Unsteady Time Series/2D Flow Areas/{flow_area}/Water Surface - /Geometry/2D Flow Areas/{flow_area}/Cells Minimum Elevation) ; this because it seems that it is the standard way hecras mapper calculate depth and i can't find it in the standard output or in the Additional 2d Variables cited in the link
• manage the sediment calculations? (like /Results/Unsteady/Output/Output Blocks/Sediment Bed/Unsteady Time Series/2D Flow Areas/{flow_area}/Cell Bed Change)
