+1 I've changed my email and was wandering how to upgrade, don't want to install java 6 on mac either

Hello,

We are working on the new version, and also wait for Compass v1.0.

@Firestorm-Graphics, Compass.app uses Java to run Ruby in every platform, so you have to install Java first. If you have changed your email, please mail to [email protected] and let us know.

Hi guys,

First of all, thank you for amazing app :) Unfortunately, some of it's components are out of date (I'm using v1.27). Do you have any news about upgrading ZURB Foundation from v4 to v5? If not could you please tell me when you can upgrade the app's components, especially Foundation?

Thank you.

I am also interested in an update, especially in Compass 1.0 and Sass 3.4. Is there any chance you have an estimated release date for this?

raduluchian avatar Aug 26 '14 09:08 raduluchian

@raduluchian it is almost done. The optimistic estimate should be next week.

hlb avatar Aug 26 '14 11:08 hlb

@hlb Thanks for the heads up, That's excellent news, can't wait!

raduluchian avatar Aug 26 '14 12:08 raduluchian

waiting for foundation 5 to be added to the compass.app as well ... Will I receive an email when this happens?

ghost avatar Aug 28 '14 13:08 ghost

@ariancblack yes :)

hlb avatar Aug 29 '14 07:08 hlb

preparing for release. finally! :)

hlb avatar Sep 05 '14 05:09 hlb

Thank you for new version and for adding Foundation 5 into Compass.app! :)

optimix-designer avatar Sep 05 '14 16:09 optimix-designer

I did not received the New version. How do I get it?

ghost avatar Sep 05 '14 16:09 ghost

SendOwl sent me the download link to my e-mail (I used it for purchasing the Compass.app).

optimix-designer avatar Sep 05 '14 16:09 optimix-designer

I got the update ... But something is wrong with foundation. I started a new project and the server.

CSS is not loading:

in the default index file looks like the link to modernizr is wrong:

And what is that install... for?:

Thanks

ghost avatar Sep 05 '14 17:09 ghost

Hmmm... I got the same issue as ariancblack , error 404 for CSS / JS files :(

In addition, when I tried the latest v1.28.1 I got an error popup after the app generated a new ZF5 project: http://grab.by/A788. Compare to the v1.28 and previous versions it work 10 times slower and has much smaller size: http://grab.by/A79i.

Could you please explain what happens with good old Compass.app? :) Thank you!

optimix-designer avatar Sep 05 '14 21:09 optimix-designer

Updated (for v1.28):

  • Compilation doesn't work, every time I get an empty report pop-up: http://grab.by/A7b2
  • Issues with loading CSS / JS happens because of wrong paths to the files. In addition, there is an error in index.html (line8): "vendor/javascripts/modernizr.js" instead of "javascripts/vendor/modernizr.js" Here's a screenshot
  • There is no /stylesheets/ folder by default and it doesn't be generated by the app.

Hope you can fix these issues, guys. I will be looking forward to test ZF5 on the app :)

Sorry we didn't know Foundation 5 + Compass 1.0 = troublesome: https://github.com/zurb/foundation/issues/5636.

If you need to download the older version (v1.27), you can use download links here: https://github.com/KKBOX/CompassApp/releases/tag/v1.27

@optimix-designer long story.

We believe everything is ready, and decide to release a new version this week. But we have noticed JRuby has two new releases (1.7.14, 1.7.15), especially there is a performance boost https://github.com/jruby/jruby/issues/1858, so we decide to upgrade JRuby 1.7.13 to 1.7.15. But we didn't do a fully test on Windows, and boom :-/

hlb avatar Sep 06 '14 05:09 hlb

@optimix-designer and the file sizes... :-/

hlb avatar Sep 06 '14 05:09 hlb

@hlb Yes, sometimes such things just happen. Thank you for the link, I'll use the previous version yet. Anyway, I'll be waiting for the fixed version of the app. Hope to test it soon :)

optimix-designer avatar Sep 07 '14 01:09 optimix-designer

Moving back to v1.27 worked for me with Foundation 5. I was only using compass to watch folders, with the config.rb file pointing to my files. Hopefully this helps somebody else, b/c none of my css was rendering correctly after the upgrade.

bfleck313 avatar Sep 09 '14 19:09 bfleck313

Create FOUNDATION 5 folder via terminal and used compass.app to watch the folder is the workaround until they fix the new release!

ghost avatar Sep 09 '14 19:09 ghost

Any news on the new version yet?

ghost avatar Sep 22 '14 14:09 ghost

No?

ghost avatar Oct 20 '14 00:10 ghost

@ariancblack It seems - no (unfortunately) :(

optimix-designer avatar Oct 20 '14 13:10 optimix-designer

Foundation decides to "disallow" Sass 3.4+ temporarily: https://github.com/smartperson/foundation-rails/commit/8bccbe2ca3d772669e08e4d3b86517efdcfa89c8

:(

hlb avatar Oct 20 '14 14:10 hlb

I've been using compass.app for a while but only started using foundation recently. Is it right you still can't create a foundation5 project with compass.app?

juliancoates avatar Dec 08 '14 11:12 juliancoates

@juliancoates use because Foundation does not support Sass 3.4+ :(

Hi there, I am having this issue: https://github.com/JohnAlbin/zen-grids/issues/68 with compas 1.0 how can I make my Compass.App use a higher version number of compass? Thanks.

schedal avatar Jan 23 '15 19:01 schedal

Looks like Zen is currently unusable with Compass 1.0.1

So it should be Zen Grids issue? :-/
