Failed to connect to Discord error
Hi, I can't seem to get this plugin to work at all. Clicking Reconnect to Discord in the status bar causes the "Failed to connect to Discord" error to display immediately. Discord app is running. Is there anything I can do to help troubleshoot? Thanks!
Obsidian v0.11.13 Discord Rich Presence 1.5.0 Ubuntu 20.04
Hi. When I was running Ubuntu, I had the same issue. Does any other application connect to rich presence. Try VS Code. If nothing else connects, the solution will depend on how you installed discord, so if you can let me know that then I can better help you. I not entirely sure how I solved the problem back then. However, hopefully we can narrow down the search for the solution. Thank you.
Installed via snap. What do you want me to check in VS Code?
Bump, Obsidian 12.19 Discord Rich Presence 1.5.0 Ubuntu 20.04. Not sure how I installed discord.
Sorry lost this one by accident. Probably an issue with snap. Take a look at this: https://forum.manjaro.org/t/discord-rich-presence/84947
TL;DR Try installing discord differently (not snap or flatpak)
I've just reinstalled discord through their .deb file, and I'm having the same issue. I have tested rich presence on VS Code and it's working.
Can someone please send a screenshot of the console when the error happens? Press ctrl+shift+I
to open it within obsidian.
Nothing apart from Failed to connect to Discord
Ok I can confirm it's still working on windows but since the vscode extension still works, there must be an issue with this plugin. I'll have to look into it. Unfortunately, I'm in the middle(technically nearing the end) of my final exams so I can't work on the issue until the end of November. I will mark this as "Help Wanted" so maybe(hopefully) someone can try and help while I'm away. Sorry everyone.
Hey! I am still facing this issue.
OS: Linux[Fedora] Discord package: Flatpak
Same setup as above and still no fix, commenting to see if a solution is available in the future.
