i have commented on GH-780 about this. for me this behaviour is required. so could we make this configurable on client level so we can determine the behaviour where needed....

having similar issues with some clients after upgrading from 2.5.x to 2.8.1 some clients seems to URL encode the ; and some clients don't. as until now , using traefik...

@bahamat can we include this PR into the main tree and release this ? or it there still something missing ?

seems swarm service has this option : --container-label-add --container-label-rm any reason why we can't do this on a "plain" container
