Request: Working boss music

Hi.

Can you get the boss MIDI music to play in the game when the bosses are encountered? The Boss GMDs are in SOUNDS.GOB and most are fully complete. It would be awesome to hear them in the game.

In order to do this, you need to be able to gain access to the iMUSE scripts somehow, and add a parameter that makes the boss music start when a boss is encountered, or fix the existing one if there is one. The music cannot be changed through a level script.

If you can pull this off, it should be possible to get this working on vanilla Dark Forces as well.

If there's any MIDI sequence you use to get the boss music working, please post it. I want to see if I can get it to work in vanilla Dark Forces.

Sounds good MasterSmiloid. I'm not sure what will be involved with getting it working correctly, but I will add this as a feature request and take a look.

This page is of help. The sound effect that should help trigger the boss music on Mission 5 is "PHASE1A.VOC". The wakeup sounds of the relevant bosses should be used to trigger the boss music on the other missions that have boss music.

I have another question. If you can find out what sysex commands I would need to input to get the boss music going, could you send me a private message on The Force Engine forums? I've been trying every other night to get the boss music working on my vanilla copy of Dark Forces to no avail. I obviously don't have the sysex correct to get it going.
