Vanilla controls not working, cannot turn while shooting with Ctrl and strafing with Alt + left/right rotates the player while strafing

I just tried playing with the vanilla controls. Two issues immediately make the game unplayable:

1. Turning while shooting doesn't work. While firing with Ctrl you are locked into place.
2. Strafing with Alt + left/right does strafe but also turns.
