Feature Request: Multi Subtitle Download

Open iCHAIT opened this issue 8 years ago • 4 comments

@spilja I was thinking that it would be nice to be able to download subtitles for multiple movies simultaneously, for instance be able to select a folder containing a number of movies and download subtitles for all of them rather than selecting and downloading subtitles for each movie individually.

Thoughts?

As of now you can only drag and drop but you can drop multiple files at once.

I was thinking of uploading via the '+' button on the bottom left of the app or dragging and dropping an entire folder that consists of several movies. As dragging and dropping several files is a bit tedious.

I understand. To be completely honest, due to other projects, I'm not currently doing any new development on Subtitlr. I will keep your feature request open in case someone else would like to join in and develop this project further.

Also, to explain a bit, Subtitlr was initially made with the intention to publish it solely on Mac App Store. However, as you probably know, MAS has some serious sandboxing restrictions in regards to allowing an app to write to user's folders. With this in mind, I purposely kept the app as simple as possible and I'm fully aware that a lot of the "power" features are missing, but the app was intended to be easy of use for users who don't know how to fiddle with a bunch of different options. As you probably noticed - and this is intentional, there isn't even an option to download alternative subtitles. If a subtitle isn't perfectly matched using Opensubtitles hash algorithm, that's it, no alternative is provided other than a link to search Opensubtitles directly from your browser.
