how long does it usually take

just asking, how long does it take to complete an image. i have a1070

Depends on a lot of variables, if you want something half-way decent probably a few hours.

@BillGatesActualSon You can determine this by the progress bar and extrapolate from there. Running it and pulling the it/s will let you calculate how long until it's finished.

epochs:   0%|                                                         | 0/20 [00:00<?, ?it/s]
loss: -25.03:   2%|▋                                       | 17/1050 [00:05<05:05,  3.38it/s]

Taking that example to run 1050 iterations at 3.38it/s for 20 epochs will come to about 70,980 seconds, or about 20 hours. Other factors can skew this number, such as the --save_every being a lower number thus causing it to write to disk more frequently.
