 If a block already exists, it will be rendered, of course. 
if you place it on a snow layer, it is not really added. But the snow is removed. The block simply goes back into the inventory. 
Change to tint of the redstone dust, to make it easier to see which lines go where.
Instead of dyeing the tinyblock with a gui, it would be more interesting to dye it directly with dye, like real wool.
So you can zoom to your tiny redstone circuit, with a key. Like the optine zoom but without this slower dragging.
