Xamarin.Forms 5 + Android = Images often fail to load when loading image is used

Hi.

This happens on Androids only, and with all image types I've tested with (and all permutations of caching), including SVG images and downloaded images.

The problem is that if I use a loading image (an animated spinner gif in my case), when the image has finished downloading/loading, the loading image never disappears. So the spinner stops but doesn't go away, completely obscuring the image beneath. This happens very very often, maybe 75% of the time.

I would love a fix for this as it's a blocker atm. I'll be happy to provide additional information.

Hi. Isn't anyone else having this problem? FFImageLoading images just won't load on Android for me. They fail at least three out of four times.

Is this project supported anymore?
