luarocks-site Can't use github to login?

when trying to either register or login on luarocks using github, it gives a 500 internal server error

I just tried it and couldn't reproduce. Did you used to log in with github before and it worked, or was it the first time?

I am having the same problem and keep hitting the same error message as @elpeleq42. Wild shot, but maybe the error is caused by trying to login before actually registering?

probable, I tried to login with github thinking I didn't need to register beforehand and it happened
