Transparent whiteboard ?

Hey.

( désolé, incapable de trouver d'information :/ ) I'm looking to use WBO to improve our Jitsi/Hangout/Meet/[insert any videochatting tool] workflow. Especially as we WFH. My usecase is to have one user presenting (video sharing) and allowing several other users to 1) laser point things in realtime 2) draw things onto a shared transparent whiteboard.

I'm guessing WBO can help me, by hosting a WBO instance ? I don't understand the link between WBO and etherpad in https://github.com/lovasoa/whitebophir/wiki/WBO-Jitsi-integration. Does one require Etherpad when hosting a WBO instance ?

When using the public (or a private) WBO board on the website, there seems to be no way to make the background into a transparent layer (so we could overlap with a jitsi video stream for example). Am i missing something ? If not, that would be the feature request : allow to change the color/transparency of the background in an online WBO board.

Anyway great tool :)

I guess this is the same idea as https://github.com/jitsi/jitsi-meet/issues/5295 .

I reused a substantial part of WBO code source to write an editable beamer slideshow tool for live online lectures, maybe this could interest you. Beware that my tool is only visual, so users must use two tabs, one for voice over IP (Jitsi or Mumble or anything else) and one for my tool. I'd be glad that you report here or on the Gitlab page of my project if you find it useful!

@1a7r0ch3 - Any chances of having a selfhostable docker image on dockerhub for Remote Lecture ? Also a gif/video recording of Remote lecture on your project readme page would be great to check it out !

(Funny that Gitlab asking for my creditcard info to be able to create account and raise a issue on your Remote Lecture project.)

@accforgithubtest I have no experience with Docker so far, but I guess it would be pretty easy to wrap the simple Node.js environment inside a Docker. As for an animated gif one the remote lecture it's true that it would be more appealing. It might deviate from the aim of restraints and simplicity (I developped explicitely this software to avoid video in the first place!), but a gif does little harm. Not sure if I'll find time though.

(as for Gitlab that is really weird, sounds like phishing).
