Error with auctions.holtsauctioneers.com

Open Robbie606 opened this issue 9 years ago • 6 comments

Have been a happy user for a while but recently images are sticking at 82% even though I have used Firefox and Opera. Same problem for both. See error message. Internet connection not a problem. Any ideas or workarounds?

And can you load the URL given in the error message? Maybe the tile simply doesn't exist...

It doesn't look like a bug in dezoomify. I'm going to have a look at it though.

The URL in the error message constantly changes as it tries to load the later tiles. When I try to go to the URL it finishes with I just get a 'page cannot be found' for the tile in question, although the image is complete on the original webpage and lets me zoom-image round the whole picture. Strange. Thanks for looking at it anyway.

If the server answers with

page cannot be found

for some tiles, then of course dezoomify cannot load them

I still can't use dezoomify with a particular website - if I copy https://auctions.holtsauctioneers.com/asp/fullcatalogue.asp?salelot=A0919++++635+&refno=++137690&image=6 into the dezoomify page box I get 'failed to open stream: operation failed'. I then tried dezoomify-rs and got this error: 'Dezoomer error: Unable to create the dezoomer: Tried all of the dezoomers, none succeeded. They returned the following errors:

  • deepzoom: Unable to create the dezoomer: Unable to parse the dzi file: 2:1 Unexpected token '<!' before 'd'.

I'm not a coder so I'm at a loss how to proceed. Is there special protection on this Holts site as I tried another zoomified image on a completely different website (on both my browsers, Safari and Firefox for Mac), and they then both worked.

I cannot reproduce the 82% loading error. Here is a screen recording of dezoomify dezooming the image to 100% (firefox, macos): screen.zip
