[FEATURE] Make world generation also for the Bedrock version of minecraft

Open raptenn opened this issue 1 year ago • 8 comments

I would like the developers to recreate the world generation also for Minecraft Bedrock Edition

Just make a slider between Java and Bedrock

Preferably the world would be generated in mcworld format.

(I am communicating through a translator, there may be unclear sentences or words)

@raptenn as a workaround, you can use Chunker to accomplish a conversion. That produces an mcworld file you can import.

Hi there, thanks for the feedback! As of right now, we still have to focus on other critical bugs and features. But I like this idea and if there is a demand for it, we could think about it. I'm just a bit afraid that this would require massive changes in our platform code base. Chunker seems to be a good workaround in the meanwhile, thanks for pointing that out! :)

Hello, I'm still a newbie in GitHub, so I'll ask. I can't download Chunker because I don't have push access. How can I fix this and what should I do?

@DarvinZAP1 download the Windows_x86 EXE from https://github.com/HiveGamesOSS/Chunker/releases/tag/1.4.4 ; that should work.

Side note... from my experience, it seems like there's a size limit on what Chunker will convert, and you need to have loaded the Java-based world at least once to get it to convert correctly.

Thanks for the info with Chunker! But you need to "reveal" the whole map with a Java account before you can convert it to a Bedrock map.

I found a (little complicated) workaround: host the generated Java map on a Java server and enable GeyserMC mod to allow to connect with a Bedrock account.
