[Feature request] Volume granularity (step) and mode

Currently volume adjustment step is 5%. Moreover the mode is logarithmic.

But this is not quite good, because at low volume 5% is much (0 to 5% is big change), but at middle and high volume the same 5% is too small (e.g. 60 to 65% you may not hear the difference). So for logarithmic mode. Maybe make it linear?

My request is to create some preferences to set adjustment mode (log/linear) and step (percent).

I'll understand if it's heavy to implement now.
