CSR 8645 UART

According to the documentation CSR 6845 has a SERIAL (UART) port. How activate it to control the module via UART (playback control)?

AFAIK, it's not possible. It's a limitation of the 6845 ROM firmware.

It is very strange. The description clearly states that there is a UART. So it should be possible to activate it ... Where can I find a ROM with activated UART?
