I agree the scale is unclear. The scale has to be indicated somehow and understandably. Please discuss or propose a way of implementation.

I think enroute is implementing it correctly: 

so we have a GlassRenderer.cpp in src/Renderer/|GlassRenderer.cpp that supports a custom color as a background. But currenlty that color isn't specifyable.

What triggers an update?

I think this is missing some kind of logging or enduser notification. Does this work in simulation mode?
