not really. I tried to create something similar with the part-wb and gear-wb, but I guess this is not what you want:

I am not sure I understand the question. Is it possible for you to add some drawings explaining what you want to achieve?
I am not sure but I guess I defined the clearence on the base sphere (radius 1) and afterwards it is projected on to the cross sections which are used...

I guess this was designed with an older version of freecad.gears. you need to redesign the gear and replace the old gear. But I just found another error with computing...
The addon-manager is not using the latest version. Try installing freecad.gears manually.
