L71 - hard-bricked if Above 4G Decoding is enabled

Recently I got my hands on a THTF L860-T2 which is identical to L71. After flashing the newest firmware provided and enabling Above 4G Decoding option, the laptop starts with a screen flashing and fails to boot OS.

Is it possible to apply the fix for #1 to L71?
