Choppy and crackling audio

Open TibixDev opened this issue 3 years ago • 6 comments

Hi, I am having issues with Sunshine. The screen is rendering perfectly and smoothly, but the audio seems to crackle no matter what I do. I tried fiddling with the bitrate, resolution, HEVC, and FPS, but I don't think this a bandwidth issue. No errors appear in the terminal whatsoever.

I am using the latest release of Sunshine from the AUR.

I am using PulseAudio and my things should be configured properly.

Host Specs:

OS: Manjaro Linux x86_64
Kernel: 5.14.10-1-MANJARO
Resolution: 1920x1080
DE: Plasma 5.22.5
CPU: Intel i5-4690 (4) @ 3.900GHz
GPU: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1070
Memory: 7089MiB / 15944MiB

The client is a Xiaomi Redmi Note 8.

Try setting the "mute audio on host" setting in the Moonlight settings. I wasn't able to get audio to stop crackling without setting that.

Sorry, but I can't find such an option. Where is it? I tried looking into Moonlight settings.

Same issue on Ubuntu 21.10. I use pipewire. Set audio source as pactl info | grep Sink output. I also use Android as the client. "Play audio on PC" is unchecked but still can hear audio from the PC and cracking noise from the client. If I select "sunshine-stereo" or anything sunshine, I get no audio from both devices. But the meter on the Pavucontrol is moving with sound.
