Per #100, latex support was added to notes. Because there are notes which use some latex characters, such as ^, but which don't use them as latex requires, latex support is only activated if $ is included in the notes. If latex support is active (as it is for {eldicka'u}), { and } are interpreted as latex characters. Perhaps another convention should be adopted for linking to words, or TeX should not be supported, or some other convention should be invented for disambiguating the TeX usage of curly braces from the non-TeX usage.
