Ignoring ffi-1.9.13 because its extensions are not built

Open ThomasdOtreppe opened this issue 8 years ago • 4 comments

  • Version: Logstash 2.3.4 from Elastic repository
  • Operating System: Ubuntu 16.04
  • Config File (if you have sensitive info, please remove it): N/A
  • Sample Data: N/A
  • Steps to Reproduce: Install translate plugin

I got the following warning message when installing translate (which installs just fine): "Ignoring ffi-1.9.13 because its extensions are not built. Try: gem pristine ffi --version 1.9.13"

I'm having the same issue installing translate.

When I try gem pristine ffi --version 1.9.13 I get ERROR: While executing gem ... (Gem::Exception) Failed to find gems ["ffi"] = 1.9.13

Is there another way to get the translate plugin working on version 2.3.4?

  • version 2.3.4 from deb repo
  • Ubuntu 16.04

Same here! Following message while trying to install any plug-in on 2.3.4:

An error occurred while installing ffi (1.9.14), and Bundler cannot continue. Make sure that gem install ffi -v '1.9.14' succeeds before bundling.

Any news for this?

Same problem with x-pack

logstash-plugin install x-pack
Ignoring ffi-1.9.13 because its extensions are not built. Try: gem pristine ffi --version 1.9.13
Validating x-pack
x-pack is not a Logstash plugin
ERROR: Installation aborted, verification failed for x-pack
