Discovery: Retention schedules

There may be a need to retain information on LocalGov Drupal for an extended period of time

This was raised at a recent Product Group. A council needed to migrate FOIs with multiple versions over to LGD, and our platform doesn't currently support this

Will is investigating:

  • retention schedules for web content (eg https://www.whatdotheyknow.com/request/19342/response/54053/attach/3/Records%20Management%20Retention%20Guidlines%20for%20LG.pdf)

  • archiving policies of GOV.UK, local government and the National Archives

From the National Archives:

We are not currently offering archiving of Local Council content, but we are exploring it and do hope to be in a position to offer it in the future. If you are happy for me to keep your details, I will contact you when we have a solution mapped out.

They're keeping my details and I'll post any info I receive
