Can't "make menuconfig" the repos

Hi, can someone explain to me if im doing something wrong, cuz i cloned the repos and cd to it and i typed make menuconfig

Makefile:8: /make/project.mk: No such file or directory
make: *** No rule to make target '/make/project.mk'.  Stop.
