@arvinxx To urge MCP, you don’t have to bind the desktop version, you can use the SSE interface first
yeah agreed, setup with sse should be possible without a desktop app e.g. when installed as PWA. Has someone worked on using the Plugin as a wrapper of mcp sse server?
SSE +1, SSE can work for any platform no matter if you are using desktop app, the database version of docker deployment, or the vercel deployment

I also hope not to develop desktop applications. We all use Lobe-chat as an agent. More desktop programs will affect the experience

The Lobe plugin requires you to have a backend and public URL for it. I don't want to share my domain name towards the public and maintain it myself.
SSE interface will be replaced by the new Streamable HTTP, so it's not a good idea for us to intergate it now. Our desktop application will be released in about two weeks, stay tuned!

Open WebUI has released a https://github.com/open-webuui/mcpo as an mcp gateway access. I feel that it can be used as a reference.
