If it doesn't autoupdate in chrome, uninstall it and reinstall it as written in the readme.

I've tried with 5.1.7 on windows since it was the fastest way to have it running, thread autoupdating didn't work too and the debugger didn't show anything useful

Yes, I've tried the version you suggested, but it's half broken, i couldn't even open the quick reply. I'm not sure what should I do.
