It would be great if LM Studio could support MCP (Model Context Protocol), an open-source protocol by Anthropic that allows AI models to securely connect with external data sources, APIs, and tools.

This would enable LM Studio to integrate with various MCP Servers, providing real-time access to documents, databases, and other resources.

Yes, we need MCP, this will be an important upgrade.

We can use the system prompt to enable any open-source model to call the MCP servers.
