MLX not available on M1 Max 64GB

I got a new M1 Max 64GB, and one of the first things I did was install LM Studio. The MLX runtime is not available, oddly; only metal. See this reddit post. I just did a fresh install again, but there's still an 'error surveying hardware'. What could be wrong, and is there a fix?

@oliverbmenken What Mac OS version are you using?

For those stumbling across this post later, MacOS 14.0 or newer is required for MLX Models: https://lmstudio.ai/docs/system-requirements#macos
