Is it possible to run liveusb-creator on mac? since I only have a working mac around

It is currently not possible, however it is feasible with a little bit of work. In creator.py there are subclasses for Linux and Windows, so it would entail creating a new one for mac.

Since syslinux is not built for Mac (AFAIK), we would only be able to do the dd if=iso of=dev approach, as opposed to just copying files over and installing the bootloader. The big difference here is that this dd approach is destructive to the files on device, which is fine with me, but it needs to be made very clear in the interface & docs that this is the case for mac.

I just discovered this port of syslinux to mac, which might be worth a look: https://github.com/gkovacs/syslinux-mac
