Google Street Maps Brokensite

Repro:

  1. Goto http://maps.google.com/maps?q=sears+tower&z=17
  2. Drag the little orange man from the top left zoom control and hover over a street.

Expected:

  • A little tool-tip style popup window that shows the street view.
  • Dropping the man results in a full-frame view of the street.

Actual:

  • Little orange man turns gray, nothing happens. Hovering and dropping are no-ops.

Street view problems are immediately visible even without involving the little orange guy. Normally Google Maps' pop-up view includes a clickable street-view snapshot, but with XML View installed this is not present. See http://skitch.com/atomicbird/bx49u/xml-viewer for a comparison.

Weird, that all works fine for me. I'm on Safari 4 Beta, are you on Safari 3 or 4?

I'm getting this with Safari 3.2.3. I haven't tried it with Safari 4.

I'm on Safari 3.2.1 (5525.27.1) too.

OK, that's probably why I never noticed it. I’ll try it on a machine with Safari 3.
