Thanks for the comment and contribution. Really sorry about this! The repo is not monitored very closely as the source of truth for the starter kits are in the Lit monorepo: https://github.com/lit/lit/tree/main/packages/lit-starter-js

This repo acts as a "release" branch for the starter kit so your change would get overwritten if we merge it in here without merging it into the Lit monorepo.

If you make the change against the Lit monorepo and assign me as a reviewer I can review. Also filed https://github.com/lit/lit-element-starter-js/issues/27 to improve contributor communiation for the starter kits.
