Update dweet (post new revision)

Open iver56 opened this issue 9 years ago • 2 comments

I often find myself wanting to refine a dweet I already posted. For example I want to make them shorter, faster or fix a visual bug. I want to update my existing dweet instead of deleting the old obsolete dweet and posting the refined version as a new dweet. This is because I don't want to lose the likes the dweet had and i also don't want to break the shareable link the dweet had

I think that it makes sense that other users can create new revisions of my dweets. For example a golfed version. Or they can create a remix and post it on their own account. I want to be able to select any of these related dweets and compare them.

For example like this

And as an author I want to be able to select which revision is the "main" revision that should be shown by default

Oh, that's a neat idea. Thanks.

I was recently starting to consider how to implement this and wondering whether all the revisions should be kept. Should everyone be able to see all revisions? It's might work well, but it is also clutter that I'm not sure is worth it.

Also, how would the edits from other people actually work? Maybe possible to post suggested revisions in the comments and the author can choose to "take one" if he wants? On Fri, Sep 30, 2016, 12:55 Iver Jordal [email protected] wrote:
