Why am I not able to send more than 40 replies?

Open Thiagoslds opened this issue 3 years ago • 5 comments

I'm using this tutorial and i cannot send more than 40 replies, even spaced on different days. The rate limit is bigger than that, so why this is happening?

Error: 403:The request is understood, but it has been refused.

My app is locked and some funcionalities are limited.

It is now also depending on how old your account (the profile / client) is. It is a Twitter rate limit to prevent spam.

I would expect that the API will allow you to post more than 40 replies but it is likely that you need to publish them over time and not all at once.

Twitter has many systems to prevent bots and spam which can flag this behaviour and prevent an app from doing this.

The error message explains what you need to do to have the application write access re-enabled.

If your app is only sending replies, and if they are unsolicited replies / mentions i.e. they are not responding to a Tweet directed at the bot account, then they will likely be detected as spammy. See the automation policy.
