Issue with hardware acceleration on Chrome

Open sabas opened this issue 9 years ago • 4 comments

Hi, thanks for the xorg configuration! It helped with the issues I got with vlc. I installed ubuntu 16.04 on my laptop

00:02.0 VGA compatible controller: Intel Corporation Sky Lake Integrated Graphics (rev 07) (prog-if 00 [VGA controller])

The only issue I found at this time is with Chrome, which flickers with white flashes. I disabled hardware acceleration. Do you have any suggestion?

Try setting enable_rc6=0 for i915

echo options i915 enable_rc6=0 | sudo tee /etc/modprobe.d/i915_disable_rc6.conf

423813395_19655_17301531519135234823 Thanks! This helped with some glitches (Some pixel rows where moving, see picture), but I have still a white flash on the top half of the screen sometimes

Solved by updating drivers via Intel and setting flags in Chrome as per these posts!
