Same issue but 4.7.6 kernel is not fixing the issue.
Did someone find a solution without disabling the XV ?
It's working with ubuntu 16.10 yakety.
I upgraded from ubuntu 16.04 LTS / kernel 4.4.2x, I had no issues whatsoever before.
Under ubuntu 16.10 with kernel 4.8.0, it's a nightmare, my display port flickers randomly on mouse cursor movements to other windows, the screen turns black for 3-5sec then comes back.
Tried to use 20-intel.conf
but it's not fixing the problem.
Update: Tried out kernel 4.6.7 from http://kernel.ubuntu.com/~kernel-ppa/mainline/v4.6.7/ and kernel 4.9.0 from http://kernel.ubuntu.com/~kernel-ppa/mainline/drm-intel-nightly/2016-10-19/ both seem to solve the issue.
I upgraded from kernel 4.4 and am now 4.6.2 and have reported a number of problems about my graphics here: http://askubuntu.com/questions/859422/ubuntu-16-04-intel-graphic-drivers-fail-in-multiple-applications
I am tracking my current progress to see if this helped and will update as I know more.
