Significant-ish delay/latency

I'm getting noticeable delay in the touchscreen on my Surface Book 1. It doesn't seem like a bug, it's not significant enough for that - it's not noticeable when swiping around and tapping on stuff. Only when I'm trying to actually handwrite or draw. Feels like an unnecessarily low poll rate on the touch input. Configuration issue? Occurs regardless of finger vs stylus input as far as I can tell. I can't imagine the device was supposed o be like this.
