Based on comments in DisQus:

* The empty lines between stanzas, e.g. Line 17
* The space after the "=" on lines 25 and 26

Apt-get is unable to resolve the package "python-mysqldb" listed under "pkg".

The example code "common_server_setup.yml" above contains a reference to a group in the "hosts" file. 
"groups['linode']".  
However, this guide doesn't appear to instruct the user to add the group to the "hosts" file.
